Get Growing & Keep Going 2010 Conference

Get Growing & Keep Going (GGKG) – “Greening Our Schools” is a symposium organized by the Austin School Garden Network ( This conference gives teachers, administrators and parents the tools to integrate gardens and nature areas into the school environment. Teachers will receive 7 CEU hours (through Texas AgriLife Extension Service) for participating in this event.

The 2010 conference features keynote speaker Kevin Coyle, National Wildlife Federation Vice President of Education. Field experts will lead a variety of sectionals, including topics such as rainwater harvesting, vermiculture, double digging, schoolyard habitats, entomology, environmental stewardship, fundraising, and building a garden community. Conference participants will also gather resources from additional organizations in the all-day exhibit hall.

Austin School Garden Network includes organizations such as Sustainable Food Center, Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Redeemer Lutheran Church, Keep Austin Beautiful, National Wildlife Federation, and Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and Girls Inc of Greater Austin.
