Waco Farmers Market Update.

Although it may seem like pursuing a downtown farmers market in Waco has been put on hold since the initial meeting last spring – organizers are alive and well.  Right now, folks at the city (led by Felix Landry) are drafting a Farmers Market Permit Ordinance to ease site selection and goods sold.

You can find a copy of the Farmers Market Permit.  Please feel free to send comments and suggestions to Felix by email – FelixL@ci.waco.tx.us or call him – 254-750-5600.

The Urban Gardening Coalition will continue to keep folks updated about revisions to the permit – as well as hearings before City Council.  Stay tuned.

Also – the Heart of Texas Workforce Development is currently organizing a workshop in December geared towards organization and expansion of farmers markets in central Texas.  Mark your calendar for December 1 & 2.  Click this link to read the full workshop details and register today: Farmers Market Workshop Invite.
