This posting is for an Interim Program Coordinator to help manage education programs in this exciting time of growth and transition.
This will be a part time position (20 hours per week), work hours may be flexible but some availability on Saturdays is required. Interim Staff person will be responsible for coordination of the education activities occurring at WHRI’s training facility near Waco TX, as well through our school gardening programs. They will also help with special projects as needed. The Interim Staff person will fulfill these duties in coordination with the Education Director who serves as the direct supervisor. This position will be for 6 months.
Specific Duties Include:
Oversee local education programs
Coordinate Farm Tours, Service Learning Trips, Off Farm Speakers, and other educational programs
Oversee School Gardening Programs
Coordinate school gardening programs including, staffing, curriculum, invoicing, partner relations, and public relations
Oversee Education Facilities and Gardens
Ensure facilities and gardens are maintained and kept orderly and are educationally effective
Oversee Volunteer Management
Maintain and develop systems for managing volunteer who are directly recruited and managed by AmeriCorps members
Lead the AmeriCorps team
Train and coach the AmeriCorps team in facilitating the above programs and projects
Contribute to WHRI community life and health
Promote the spiritual health of the farm by participating in devotions, worship time, etc.
Qualifications Of The Ideal Candidate
- A committed Christian with a desire to help the poor
- 1-3 years practical experience in education or social work,
- Strong gardening skills
- Excellent organizational skills, good verbal communication skills, and a team player
The salary will be based on experience.
