Support the East Waco Training Farm! A Campaign.

Fellow Foodies & Guerilla Gardeners!

There is something powerful in planting seeds in the city. At times, we often forget how much power we really have in how we utilize our urban landscape.

Some years ago, we began dreaming up planting seeds on vacant lots in the city, and using the fruits of those efforts to feed our neighbors, and, in the process, empowering youth to grow their own food through paid, meaningful learning experiences. We literally broke ground this past Monday July the 9th on an Urban Training Farm that will help bring these dreams to fruition. There are still parts of this project that remain unfunded, and that is where you come in. There are a number of ways you can get involved with this worthwhile project to ensure its success:

1) Give $: Click the following link http://hotugc.org/get-involved/. If you choose to give online, you can set up a recurring gift to occur as often as you like. You can also send a check to: Urban Gardening Coalition – P.O. Box 2353 – Waco, TX 76703.

2) Give Time: The UGC has formed a training farm task force separate from its programs committee. It needs qualified people to help with our Training Farm Task Force, as well as coming out to the garden to help us plant, harvest, and weed. Starting Tuesday, August 14th – we will start hosting 3 weekly work days at the Training Farm: Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:30-8:30am and Fridays 3:00-5:30pm. Contact us at 254-227-5380 or hotugc@gmail.com for more information.

3) Give Things: We are always looking for seeds, transplants, soil amendments, mulch, and other garden materials to help ensure the success of this program. For a complete list of items unique to the Training Farm, click here.

To help feed our neighbors and train youth in the skills they need to grow their own food and succeed in today’s economy, we need you to give today. Please join World Hunger Relief, the Cooper Foundation, the Hunger Coalition, and countless others in supporting this project. No gift is too small and your generosity is tax deductible.

Thank you so very much for supporting our vision of a more beautiful, healthy, and economically prosperous Waco area.

See you in the garden – or at the Market!
